Social work is both a calling and a discipline. Our department prepares graduates who can engage with individuals, families and communities with skill, sensitivity and a clear ethical framework. The BSW and MSW programmes at AAMS are structured to develop both theoretical foundations and the practical field competencies that the development sector and social service organisations expect of qualified professionals.
Concurrent field work is at the heart of our programmes. Students spend supervised time in agencies, community settings and welfare organisations, building case records, participating in field seminars and reflecting critically on their practice. Our faculty are committed to integrating this field experience with classroom theory so that the transition from study to professional practice is as smooth and purposeful as possible.
